'THE OSBOURNES' Premiere Draws 6.6 Million Viewers
November 27, 2002Last night's season premiere of MTV's "The Osbournes" drew 6.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable broadcast of the night, the music channel said Wednesday.
Tuesday's ratings were up 84 percent compared to the first season's premiere, and viewership rivaled that of the highest-rated episode last season.
"'The Osbournes' juggernaut shows little signs of slowing down," MTV programming president Brian Graden said in a statement. "The success of the show is due to the fact that, even amidst the non-stop media hype, skyrocketing careers and a slew of new dogs, the Osbournes are still the same solid family unit that we all grew to love in the first season. And it sure beats combing David Gest's shag carpet for stray cuticles."
